Teaching comparison and entrepreneurship practice in public and private higher education institutions of Boa Vista

Resumo: The entrepreneurial education has become the target of educational institutions around the world, each one focusing on regional differences where they exist. The aim of this study was to analyze the teaching and practice of entrepreneurship in Higher Education Institutions of Boa Vista. We used qualitative and quantitative research, exploratory descriptive character. The quantitative stage was used to survey involved 336 students of management courses from the fourth semester of two public and three private. In the qualitative content analysis was made of interviews with the coordinators of the five courses. It was observed that the perception of private school students about what the institution as to offer entrepreneurial training is much higher than that of students in public institutions. Examined that private institutions give greater incentive entrepreneurial practices, and that more than half of students of public institutions have realized the need for practical lessons of entrepreneurship, since teaching is more focused on theories, however, analyzed the approaches of the disciplines that deal with entrepreneurship, it was found that resemble, as evidence of the importance of entrepreneurial action as driving the economy. It was concluded that the private school students assimilate the need for entrepreneurial training and more than students from public and private institutions seek to give greater encouragement to the practice of entrepreneurship.

O objetivo desse estudo foi analisar o ensino e a prática de empreendedorismo em Instituições de Ensino Superior de Boa Vista. Utilizou-se de pesquisa qualiquantitativa de caráter exploratória-descritiva. A etapa quantitativa utilizou-se de survey envolveu 336 alunos dos cursos de administração a partir do 4º semestre de duas instituições públicas e três privadas. Na etapa qualitativa foi feita análise de conteúdo de entrevistas com os cinco coordenadores dos cursos. Observou-se que a percepção dos alunos das instituições privadas sobre o que a instituição oferta quanto à formação empreendedora é bem maior que a dos alunos das instituições públicasExaminou-se que as instituições privadas dão maior incentivo as práticas empreendedoras, e que mais da metade dos alunos das instituições públicas perceberam a necessidade de terem aulas práticas de empreendedorismo, visto que o ensino está mais focado em teorias, porém, analisados os enfoques das disciplinas que tratam do empreendedorismo, verificou-se que se assemelham, pois evidenciam a importância da ação empreendedora como propulsora da economia.
