Resumo: The objective of this study was to compare the presenteeism and organizational anomie in function of 3 different scenarios involving the work x disease relationship, which were created together with the research group, to fill a gap in the theory of presenteeism. The first scenario referred to a context in which the worker went to his place of work, even if he / she was selfwilled, the second because of fear and in the third, the worker enjoyed medical leave without problems. Presenteeism is seen as a reduction of productivity associated with disease reasons, since the worker is present in his work environment, but does not produce as expected. Organizational anomie is related to conditions of organizational disintegration and disorder, causing a weakening of norms, which become insufficient to guide the individual's conduct at work. The survey was conducted with 502 Brazilian university students from a private higher education institution, from different Brazilian regions, in a virtual way through the Survey Monkey platform. The instruments used in the research were the Stanford Presenteeism Scale (SPS-6) and the Organizational Anomie scale, as well as a sociodemographic survey and the 3 scenarios with relation to work and disease. In order to reach the objectives of the study and to analyze the collected data, we used the statistical software IBM SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) and AMOS (Analysis of Moment Structures), both of version 19, for the purpose of conducting exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, respectively. The analysis of the data showed significant differences in relation to the anomie according to the scenarios, which is higher in workers who even sick work for fear of some type of retaliation, followed by those who enjoy the license without any problem. Another point that deserves to be highlighted was the absence of a significant difference in relation to the scores of presenteeism in the 3 groups. The results allow us to conclude that there is a need to revise the theory of presenteeism, including those in which the worker is present at his workplace for fear of some kind of retaliation from colleagues or even from the organization. New studies are suggested in order to allow a better understanding of the relationships between the variables considered here.

Submitted by Leticia Schettini (leticia@ufrrj.br) on 2021-09-10T13:40:34Z No. of bitstreams: 1 2019 - Alice Sofia Pereira Padilha.pdf: 752492 bytes, checksum: e5c46cbf3f6ff9c60db3b9a25fa56355 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-09-10T13:40:34Z (GMT). description The objective of this study was to compare the presenteeism and organizational anomie in function of 3 different scenarios involving the work x disease relationship, which were created together with the research group, to fill a gap in the theory of presenteeism.
