Resumo: Mosquitoes are insects belonging to the order Diptera, suborder Nematocera, Culicidae family, divided into two subfamilies, Anophelinae and Culicinae. The culic?neos are incriminated as vectors of pathogens that cause diseases such as Dengue, Yellow Fever among others, and include about 3000 species in 11 tribes, consisting of 38 genera. The Tribe Aedini includes three genera that occur in Brazil: Aedes, Psorophora and Haemagogus. The genus Aedes is highly diverse, comprising more than 900 species currently distributed in 44 subgenera. Reinert (2000), based on morphological studies, divided the genus Aedes in two genera: Aedes and Ochlerotatus. In the present study we adopt the proposed by Reinert (2000). Were morphologically analyzed eggs of four species of the genus Ochlerotatus observed by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The species Oc. albifasciatus, Oc. fluviatilis, Oc. scapularis and Oc taeniorhynchus showed some significant morphological differences comproved by morphometry and scanning electron microscopy. Oc albifasciatus presented chorionic cells with shapes resembling a wristwatch and a racket. This egg contains a continuous and prominent micropylar apparatus with 9.6 ?m thick and evident micropyle disc with approximately 20.3 ?m in diameter. The eggs had an elliptical outline with 615.7 ? 37.24 ?m in length and a width of 180.7 ? 22.87 ?m in its central region. Oc. fluviatilis showed chorionic cells of irregular shapes, observing that the tubercles of the ventral surface are larger, which may contribute to their adhesion to the substrate, it is not possible to visualize the micropyle in this species. These eggs had a black coloration with elliptical, 722.8 ? 39.5 ?m in length and width of 177.9 ? 9.78 ?m presenting a bottleneck at one of its ends. The ornamentation of chorionic cells consists of cells of irregular shapes, each containing 2.65 ? 0.41 ?m tubecles on the ventral surface, and measures 6.04 ? 0.60 on the dorsal surface. The egg of Oc scapularis has many similarities with Oc. albifasciatus in the dorsal and ventral surfaces. The micropylar apparatus with 11.1 ?m showed a necklace with a evident and discontinuous frame, and a micropilar disc also evident as Oc. albifasciatus measuring 1.41 ?m. Oc. scapularis showed black color, elliptical contour, measuring 620.4 ? 16.74 ?m in length and 163.7 ? 16.90 ?m in width, with a ratio (length / width) of 3.79 ?m. Oc taeniorhynchus showed chorionic cells with irregular shapes, ventral surface more convex than the dorsal, and the micropyle showing a complete and continuum collar. In the central part of the egg tubercles have larger diameters. These eggs have 607.1 ? 29.3 ?m in length and width of 213.7 ? 13.7 ?m. The micropyle measuring 1.4 ? 0.31 ?m is surrounded by a micropilar disk (5.2 ? 1.37 ?m) and a complete micropylar collar (5.4 ? 0.99 ?m)

A micr?pila medindo 1,4 ? 0,31 ?m est? rodeada por um disco micropilar (5,2 ? 1,37 ?m) e por um colar micropilar completo (5,4 ? 0,99 ?m).Submitted by Jorge Silva (jorgelmsilva@ufrrj.br) on 2019-12-10T17:48:46Z No. of bitstreams: 1 2013 - Juliana Soares Sarmento dos Santos.pdf: 3328175 bytes, checksum: 88877544209ea222a86917964c2416d5 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2019-12-10T17:48:46Z (GMT).
