Resumo: The residue of sewage treatment is a material called sewage sludge, a material rich in organic matter and nutrients, but without proper treatment can be harmful to human health and the environment. This duly treated and composted materials (biosolids) contains in its composition organic matter and nutrients essential for plant growth. Thus arises the need to properly dispose this stuff so you do not miss the advances achieved in the treatment process. Provision for farm forestry, sewage sludge must be stabilized (biosolids), and meet the criteria stipulated by CONAMA Resolution No. 375/2006. This study aims to determine the technical potential for recycling of biosolids from the ETE Alegria - RJ for production of forest seedlings of Atlantic Forest. Initially chemical and biological characterization of biosolids according to CONAMA was performed, and even met the parameters of the law, being classified as Class A, excellent quality for forest farm layout. In the second step were tested different ratios of biosolids and commercial substrate, production of seedlings of four forest species of the Atlantic Forest, with the objective of evaluating the technical potential of biosolids on seedling production. The addition of biosolids to commercial substrate provided better growth and quality of seedlings, indicating that the disposal of biosolids for seedling production can be not only an environmentally friendly alternative, but also technically and economically feasible. Given the results, it was still done the comparison of biosolids and commercial substrate under different dosages of fertilizer coverage in seedlings of Schinus terebinthifolius Raddi and growth of these seedlings in the field. The seedlings with superior quality biosolids presented at the nursery. In the field, the high doses of manuring favored the initial growth of seedlings of Schinus terebinthifolius and treatment with higher nutrient content in the tissues showed the highest relative growth and increase in height and diameter, matching the parameters of quality seedlings with biosolids. Therefore, it is concluded that the sludge has high potential for seedling production of the Atlantic, and can even be used in proportion to 100%.
