Resumo: The study was conducted to evaluate the inclusion of Flemingia macrophylla in diets dairy goats. We used five crossbred goats arranged in 5x5 Latin square 5x5. The animals were kept in individual pens with apparatus for total collection of feces. Each experimental period lasted 11 days, seven days for adaptation and four to collect samples and data. The diets were composed of 40% concentrate and 60% hay, and the differential treatment by inclusion levels (0%, 8%, 16%, 24% and 32%) of legume hay in the diet. The diets were designed to be isoproteic, with 14.5% crude protein. We evaluated the tannin content, the presence of saponin and leaf: stem ratio of Flemingia macrophylla, the fractionation of carbohydrates, dietary intake, digestibility of nutrients and feeding behavior, ammonia nitrogen and ruminal pH; production and milk composition and blood parameters of goats. Results were subjected to analysis of variance and regression, a 5% probability. No significant differences were found for the feeding behavior and efficiencies of feeding and rumination. The consumption values were not altered by the inclusion of legumes in the diet, except for the consumption of lipids and lignin. The amounts of ammonia, production and milk composition and hematological parameters were not modified by diet. The digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, crude protein, neutral detergent fiber and carbohydrate were observed with decreasing linear effects Flemingia to include in the diet. The digestibility of ether extract showed a linear correlation with the levels of legumes in the diet. The ruminal pH was influenced linearly by increasing levels of dietary Flemingia. The tannin content (0.88%) was found in Flemingia was low and the ratio stem:leaf considered high, the presence of saponins was also determined in Flemingia. These three factors may be related to differences in nutrient digestibility and ruminal pH. The Flemingia macrophylla can be used up to the level of 32% in dry matter, because even decreasing nutrient digestibility, increased pH values and not hurt production and milk composition of crossbred goats.

Made available in DSpace on 2020-02-18T17:08:23Z (GMT).
