Aspectos reprodutivos de vacas com encefalopatia hereditária (Doença de Ecoporanga)

Resumo: | No intuito de maximizar a capacidade reprodutiva, promover superovulações e futuros cru-zamentos consanguíneos, com o objetivo de verificar como se efetua a passa-gem/transmissão do(s) gen(es) defeituosos de animais afetados por uma enfermidade neuro-lógica hereditária (DE) que ocorreu no Município de Ecoporanga, Nordeste do Estado do Espírito Santo, foram avaliados o comportamento sexual, a dinâmica folicular, os parâme-tros hormonais e a citologia vaginal de três vacas afetadas pela doença e uma descendente direta. Essa condição, descrita inicialmente como Encefalopatia Atrófico-Hipoplásica Mul-tissistêmica, ocorreu exclusivamente em fêmeas, todas descendentes diretas ou netas de um único touro que sofreu mutação. Essa primeira fase do estudo teve por finalidade dar base a estudos sobre a transmissão genética, com vistas a estabelecer futuramente, se a DE pode servir de modelo para investigações relativas à Sindrome de Rett, enfermidade neurológica hereditária de humanos que afeta quase que exclusivamente meninas nos primeiros anos de vida. Detectaram-se modificações no comportamento sexual, sobretudo no estro, bem como resposta reprodutiva satisfatória quanto à aplicação da prostaglandina. Há alguma possibili-dade de animais afetados de forma mais branda pela DE cruzarem e, por conseqüência, pas-sarem o gene mutante. |

The sexual behavior, follicular dynamics, hormonal and vaginal cytology profiles of these three cows and one direct descendant were evaluated with the aim of maximizing the reproductive capacity and promoting superovulation for fu-ture inbreeding in order to assess how the inheritance of defected gene(s) occurs. This dis-ease, initially described as multisystemic atrophic-hypoplastic encephalopathy, was ob-served exclusively in females which were all direct descendants or granddaughters of a sin-gle bull in which a mutation occurred. This first phase of the study aimed to provide a basis for other studies on genetic inheritance and establish if this disease can serve as an experi-mental model of Rett Syndrome, a hereditary neurological disease in humans which affects almost exclusively girls in their first years of life. Sexual behavior changes were detected, especially in estrus, as well as satisfactory reproductive response to administration of pros-taglandin. No intuito de maximizar a capacidade reprodutiva, promover superovulações e futuros cru-zamentos consanguíneos, com o objetivo de verificar como se efetua a passa-gem/transmissão do(s) gen(es) defeituosos de animais afetados por uma enfermidade neuro-lógica hereditária (DE) que ocorreu no Município de Ecoporanga, Nordeste do Estado do Espírito Santo, foram avaliados o comportamento sexual, a dinâmica folicular, os parâme-tros hormonais e a citologia vaginal de três vacas afetadas pela doença e uma descendente direta. Essa condição, descrita inicialmente como Encefalopatia Atrófico-Hipoplásica Mul-tissistêmica, ocorreu exclusivamente em fêmeas, todas descendentes diretas ou netas de um único touro que sofreu mutação. Essa primeira fase do estudo teve por finalidade dar base a estudos sobre a transmissão genética, com vistas a estabelecer futuramente, se a DE pode servir de modelo para investigações relativas à Sindrome de Rett, enfermidade neurológica hereditária de humanos que afeta quase que exclusivamente meninas nos primeiros anos de vida. Detectaram-se modificações no comportamento sexual, sobretudo no estro, bem como resposta reprodutiva satisfatória quanto à aplicação da prostaglandina. Há alguma possibili-dade de animais afetados de forma mais branda pela DE cruzarem e, por conseqüência, pas-sarem o gene mutante. |
