Resumo: This article aims to analyze conflicts and repression in the countryside of the city of Nova Iguaçu, from the 1950s until the end of the 1980s, with cases of the Pedra Lisa region as a thread of our narrative and analysis. The centrality of this region to our study is given by its pioneering and leading role of mobilization and peasant resistance before the military coup of 1964 and its influence on the mobilization of the decades that followed. From this analysis, it is possible to trace continuities and discontinuities, both in the repression of the political regimes treated in this article and in the local conflicts.

From this analysis, it is possible to trace continuities and discontinuities, both in the repression of the political regimes treated in this article and in the local conflicts.Esse artigo se propõe a analisar conflitos e repressão no campo no município de Nova Iguaçu, dos anos de 1950 até fins da década de 1980, tendo os casos da região de Pedra Lisa como um fio condutor de nossa narrativa e análise. A centralidade dessa região para nosso estudo se dá tanto por conta de seu pioneirismo e protagonismo de mobilização e resistência camponesa no pré-64 quanto por sua influência nas mobilizações das décadas seguintes.
