Resumo: This article intends to analyze how the sentiment of belonging to Gerais Velho, a black rural community in the backlands of Minas Gerais, enfolds land, religion and black identity through the roaming of their inhabitants. Stemming from an ethnographic perspective, it uses the movements of the Gerais Velho inhabitants to shift the idea of belonging from the analytic frames of fixation, common in the treatment of identities. Thus, it traces the pathways by which autonomy and liberty make sense to a life experienced as mobility.Keywords: belonging; farm; religion; blackness; mobility.BENITES, Luiz Felipe Rocha. Partindo de uma perspectiva etnográfica, o movimento das pessoas que fazem parte da comunidade é usado para deslocar a própria ideia de pertencimento dos quadros analíticos da fixação, tão comum entre as abordagens identitárias.
