Can a black poet speak? Notes on faith, culture and religion in the amazon quilombola poetry of Rosalvo Farias

This article analyzes the poetic work of the self-taught quilombola Rozalvo Farias, Amazonian is a poetic man with an important representative in the community of Tipitinga, in northeastern Pará. The analysis will focus on the elements that constitute some of his poems, such as faith, culture, memory and religion, with attention to the words that produce images from aesthetic devices, such as figures of speech. In addition, this study features interviews with people from the Tipitinga quilombo, in the municipality of Saint Luzia of the Pará . Thus, the analysis focuses on the most recurrent components of the text. For this, the theoretical contributions of Geertz (2008), Halbwachs (1990), Hall (1997) and Portelli (2014) were used.
