Resumo: Objective: To analyze the stability of the color of bulk fill resins compared to the conventional resins in function of the time of immersion in different coloring substances. Methods: Seventy-two specimens with 1.2mm thickness were made using a teflon bipartite matrix placed on a glass plate and a polyester matrix strip, 36 of the Bulk Fill resin (OPUS- FGM) and 36 from Charisma® Diamond. The CDPs were randomly divided into 6 groups (n = 12) according to the solution in which they were immersed: distilled water, coffee and red wine. G1 (n = 12) Opus Bulk Fill-distilled water (control1); G2 (n = 12): Opus Bulk Fill-red wine; G3 (n = 12): Opus Bulk Fill-coffee; G4 (n = 12): Charisma® Diamond-distilled water (control2); G5 (n = 12): Charisma® Diamond-coffee; G6 (n = 12): Charisma® Diamond-wine. The color of the CDP was evaluated using the CIE-Lab system, L * a * b *, using a spectrophotometer. Each specimen underwent three color readings for each evaluation, which occurred in three moments: initial control, 7, 28 days in immersion in the different solutions proposed. The results were analyzed by SPSS Statistics (IBM) software. Three statistical approaches were performed, the presentation of descriptive statistics with measures of central tendency and dispersion, two-way ANOVA with repeated measures, and one-way ANOVA in comparison of color variation (Δ * L, Δ * a, Δ * b , Δ * E) of the specimens. Results: Bulk Fill resin presented higher staining when submitted to wine immersion (ΔE * = 35.63), while the conventional one obtained greater variation after immersion in ΔE * coffee = 35.63, with a statistically significant result (p <0.05). Conclusion: ΔE * showed that both resins OPUS-FGM (Bulk Fill) and Charisma® Diamond (conventional), obtained similar degrees of extrinsic staining.
