Resumo: OBJECTIVES: To analyze the epidemiological profile of individuals with laryngeal cancer in the state of Sergipe, between 1996 and 2015. METHODS: A retrospective and descriptive study was carried out, in which data from 442 deaths from January 1996 to December 2015 were recorded, recorded in the Mortality Information System (SIM) and diagnosed with laryngeal neoplasm. RESULTS: A total of 442 records were analyzed in the SIM, 87% of the deaths occurred among men, the mean age was 63 years, 76% of the total was self-declared black/brown, and 68% had studied less than 4 years. CONCLUSION: In the state of Sergipe the majority of deaths occurred among men, self declared black/brown and with low schooling.

MÉTODOS: Estudo retrospectivo e descritivo, no qual foram analisados dados de 442 óbitos ocorridos entre janeiro de 1996 a dezembro de 2015, registrados no Sistema de Informação sobre Mortalidade (SIM) e com diagnóstico de neoplasia de laringe. RESULTADOS: Foram analisados 442 registros no SIM, 87% dos óbitos ocorreram entre homens, a média de idade foi 63 anos, 76% do total se autodeclarou negro/pardo e 68% haviam estudado menos de 4 anos.
