Resumo: The following term paper approaches the case of Polish nationalism, from the period of its consolidation, as an instrument to reach Independence and the Republic of Poland in 1918. This analysis was made based on classic literature on the origins of nationalism to explain how the Polish identity Project was formed and reached its results. Through the method of process-tracing case study, the focus given started from the Third Great Partition of Poland (1795), when it is justified as the beginning of the construction of Polish national identity, while using the management of the German’s national-socialism as a theoretical reference. The goal of this paper lies on the examination of how has the Polish nationalist Project followed a similar path as the German’s, and which conditions were important to produce divergent results: in the German case, the instauration of totalitarism, in Poland, a republic

Essa análise foi feita a partir da literatura clássica sobre as origens do nacionalismo para explicar como o projeto de identidade polaca se formou e atingiu seus resultados. Através do método do estudo de caso indutivo de rastreamento, o enfoque foi dado a partir da Terceira Grande Partilha da Polônia (1795), quando se justifica o início da construção de uma identidade nacional polaca, e utilizando a condução do nacional-socialismo alemão como referencial teórico.
