Intervenções de enfermagem em saúde mental durante o puerpério: uma revisão integrativa

Aim: To identify the nursing interventions implemented in mental health care of women during the puerperal period, in order to summarize the available evidence. Methods: The present study is an integrative review. The bibliographic research was carried out on virtual databases, MEDLINE/PubMed, BVS, Cinahl, Scopus e Embase. Later, the selected studies were classified according to the evidence level through the instrument Critical Appraisal Skills Program (CASP). Results: Thirteen articles were included in the final analysis of this study. Eleven of the thirteen select articles evaluated postpartum women, while the other two evaluated nurses. The Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale (EPDS) was the main used scale as a criterion for inclusion of postpartum women in the studies. Most of them were carried out in the hospital and at home. The studies were identified according to their respective focuses of intervention in mental health, categorized into interventions focused on the postpartum women, mother-infant and mother-family interaction. Four of the thirteen articles addressed more than one of these focuses. Conclusion: The nursing interventions performed in the postpartum period are effective in the treatment of mental disorders, assisting in the regression or even the disappearance of symptoms.
