The consumption of drugs is something everyday to our social reality. And these have a role in human relations, individual and collective. They can be used as an integrative part of the social habits of fraternization, but also as a factor of social exclusion when used abusively, or when they interfere in the quality of life of its user. Alcohol is one of these psychoactive substances, and according to WHO, it is the most consumed drug in the world, with harmful effects ranging from organic diseases, mental disorders, psychological and behavioral changes, besides being related to major accidents and violent deaths in the country 15. The university students are one of the social segments that most consume this type of substance, due to factors that corroborate their consumption, such as: excessive hours, family deprivation, sleep deprivation, difficulties for leisure, among other factors. Being in this way, more likely to present high levels of stress and fatigue, mental and physical. Brazilian statistics still do not have enough data to demonstrate the effect of alcohol consumption on student reality. And when investigating this reality among university students of medical school, these data are more scarce. This makes it impossible to see the real effects that the consumption of this substance can cause in the quality of social and professional formation of these future health professionals, who will work in the future with patients who will show signs and symptoms related to excessive consumption of this substance.
