Prós e contras das terapias de reposição hormonal no período pós-menopausa e papel do farmacêutico na orientação clínica: uma revisão bibliográfica

Introduction: In climacteric occurs the decrease of hormones and appearance of signs and symptoms that can be variable in each woman. In the postmenopause, especially the hormone estradiol, is in very low concentrations. The use of hormone replacement therapies may exert similar effects to endogenous hormones, but its risks and benefits are well discussed. With this, pharmaceutical care can act in the identification, resolution and prevention of diseases throughout the treatment. Objectives: To investigate the pros and cons of the use of postmenopausal hormone replacement therapies and the role of the pharmacist in clinical guidance. Methodology: A literature review was carried out using the databases, PubMed, SciELO, Scopus and Web of Science. For this purpose, we designed the "Relationship between hormone and postmenopausal therapy" and (Research 2): "Pharmaceutical care in the care of postmenopausal patients and the use of hormonal therapy". Results: Through inclusion and exclusion criteria, 16 articles were selected for data extraction. 80% of the articles reported only associated beneficial effects without significant adverse events using hormonal therapies, only 2 studies reported serious adverse events. The beneficial effects were variables at the endothelial level, cognition, bone tissue, vasomotor and genitourinary signs / symptoms. Pharmaceutical care has demonstrated importance in the detection and resolution of (PRMs), and improved knowledge and adherence of patients. Conclusion: Beneficial effects with the use of hormonal therapies used in doses considered standard were superior to the risks. Pharmaceutical care was strongly related to optimization of pharmacotherapy, reduction of costs with medications for osteoporosis and promotion of rational use of medications.
