Introduction: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a pulmonary disease, with systemic repercussions of great incidence and worldwide prevalence. Its progressive and limiting character has a negative impact on the functionality and quality of life of the individual. The use of functional measurement instruments in clinical practice has contributed to the evaluation of therapeutic efficacy and the perception of the quality of survival of patients with chronic diseases. Objective: This study aimed to systematically review which are the evaluation instruments most used in patients with COPD, discussing practical factors such as feasibility and applicability. Results: A total of 1322 articles were initially identified in the four databases researched, remaining 18 after considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria established. Among the evaluation instruments most approached in the studies, the 6- minute Walk Test (6MWT) was more prominent as a performance test and the quality of life questionnaire, such as the Saint George Hospital Questionnaire (SQRQ). Conclusion: The most widely used instruments in the scientific literature are performance tests such as 6MWT, as it is a simple test, easy to apply and perform.
