Resumo: Objective: Describe the quality of perception of man as the human papillomavirus - HPV in Aracaju-Sergipe, after attending a lecture on the topic and demonstrate quantitatively thisknowledge. Methods: It is an observational, cross-sectional. This is the second stage of a study initiated earlier with the application of a questionnaire to men on the knowledge of HPV infection, but no prior clarification. In this second phase, the same questionnaire was applied to a similar group of men with previous lectures. Participants completed a questionnaire between April and June 2013 were included in the study who met the inclusion criteria and agreed to participate by signing the consent form. The results were analyzed using SPSS. The study was submitted to the ethics committee on research by the number of the certificate of appreciation presentation for ethics that is: 02891413.0.0000.5546. Results: In the concept of an association between HPV and HPV which causes diseases, 1.9% of all respondents these two items, answered incorrectly, different from the first stage of the research that 47% answered incorrectly. 100% of those who responded to items about HPV concept and would make a peniscopy pass the exam. In the first stage, 42% of those who had heard of HPV had a proper view of HPV. This ratio increased to 74.6% in the second stage of the research.About knowledge andfunction ofpeniscopythere was asudden changefrom the first tothe second stage, with 93.5% and 92.5% in the first stepdid not knowthe functionor whatispeniscopyrespectively. In the second stage, 72.6% and64.6% demonstratedknowledge, respectively. Conclusion: The quality perception of man in Aracaju about HPV infection significantly improved after administration of educational lectures on the subject and has been shown quantitatively the enhancement of knowledge, as can be seen in the results.

Métodos: É um estudo observacional, do tipo transversal. Trata-se da segunda etapa de um estudo iniciado anteriormente com a aplicação de um questionário a homens sobre o conhecimento acerca da infecção pelo HPV, porém sem nenhum esclarecimento prévio. Nesta segunda etapa o mesmo questionário foi aplicado a um grupo semelhante de homens com palestras prévias. Os participantes responderam a um questionário no período entre abril e junho de 2013, sendo incluídos no estudo os que atendiam aos critérios de inclusão e aceitaram participar da pesquisa através de assinatura do termo de consentimento livre e esclarecido. Os resultados obtidos foram analisados pelo programa SPSS. A pesquisa foi submetida ao comitê de ética em pesquisa pelo número do certificado de apresentação para apreciação ética que é: 02891413.0.0000.5546. Resultados: Em uma associação entre conceito de HPV e quais doenças o HPV provoca, 1,9% de todos os que responderam esses dois itens, responderam incorretamente, diferente da primeira etapa da pesquisa que 47% responderam incorretamente. 100% dos que responderam aos itens conceito sobre HPV e se fariam uma peniscopia passariam pelo exame. Na primeira etapa, 42% dos que tinham ouvido falar de HPV tinham um conceito correto sobre HPV. Este índice aumentou para 74,6% na segunda etapa da pesquisa.Sobre o conhecimento e a função da peniscopia houve uma mudança brusca da primeira para a segunda etapa, sendo que 93,5% e 92,5% na primeira etapa não sabia a função nem o que é a peniscopia, respectivamente.
