This work details each step taken in the production of an experimental project entitled “Let them kids play: the formation process of a soccer athlete in Sergipe”, a multimedia journalistic feature that seeks to investigate questions on the formation of soccer players in Sergipe’s ground. By focusing on the initiation of children and adolescents in the sport, on the paths taken by those who dream of becoming soccer players and on success or dropout cases, this journalistic product aimed to point problems faced by different sporting centers (according to location, economic power, association to entities, among others), by the players and their families and besides that, highlight the existing disparities in Sergipe's soccer environment. This work also took into account the soccer’s relevancy to the brazilian society and the possibility of social ascension through the fields and boots as a determining factor towards a growing organization in the process of formation of the soccer player.
