Drones are a promising tool for crop monitoring, pest disease detection, and precise agricultural input spraying. Their applications drive efficiency and productivity in the agronomic sector while reducing operational costs such as fuel expenses and labor, minimizing environmental impacts by reducing the excessive use of chemicals and pollutant emissions. However, the adoption of drones in agriculture faces challenges such as high initial costs and regulatory issues. Therefore, this present work provides a literature review on the use of drones in agriculture, addressing their primary applications, benefits, litations, and economic and sustainable aspects, analyzing the use of drones in agriculture and their contribution to increased efficiency and productivity in the agronomic sector under various agricultural practices, based on qualitative research and the review of different bibliographic sources. In conclusion, investments in technical training and infrastructure, as well as future research to assess the performance of drones in different crops and agricultural conditions, are considered essential for the advancement of the sector and the continued development of agriculture.
