Avaliação tomográfica da espessura e densidade óssea no palato de pacientes portadores de fenda transforame incisivo unilateral completa (FTIUC)

Introduction: Cleft lip and palate is the congenital malformation of higher incidence in the human face. The alteration of the palate anatomy brings challenges to professionals and there is no consensus in the literature about an ideal location to place mini-implants in the palate, especially cleft palates. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the bone support patients with complete unilateral transforaminal cleft lip and palate (CL/P) through cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). Methods: Ten CBCT with complete unilateral transforaminal CL/P were processed on CS 3D imaging and RadiAnt DICOM Viewer. The palate was divided into 6 regions, in which bone thickness and density measurements were performed in the entire palate at a distance of 1mm in all directions. Results: 12.804 values of thickness and density were analyzed. Conclusions: the anterior region on the contralateral side of the cleft presented the highest thickness and density values when compared to the other regions. The bone thickness in the cleft region, at a distance of 3mm and 6mm did not present a statistically significant difference (p=0.396).
