Instrumentos de avaliação da atividade e participação utilizados por terapeutas ocupacionais em pacientes amputados de membro superior: revisão sistemática de literatura

Introduction: Upper extremity amputations are defined a total or partial loss of a limb, often due to complications from diseases and other causes, such as car accidents, work accidents and involvement in firearm situations. In general, evaluating the overall functionality of people with amputations is extremely important, however most therapists only use evaluations of body function and structure as the main ones to measure therapeutic gains. Objective: To identify instruments to assess occupational activity and participation in the interventions of occupational therapists in upper limb amputees. Method: This is a systematic literature review study. The search for studies took place through the following databases: MEDLINE/PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, LILACS and SciELO. Results: Of the studies, 78.6% applied functionality assessments only for Activity and participation, and 21.4% of the research addressed instruments both for activity and participation and for functions and structures of the body, in general, the following stood out: Box and Block Test of Manual extremity; Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) and Test Hand Functional. Considering that these were the most used by occupational therapists in the context of intervention Conclusion: Therefore, by identifying the assessments addressed in the studies, it was possible to analyze the main standardized assessments considered to be in common use in interventions by occupational therapists in different treatment and rehabilitation spaces, aimed at measuring activity and participation.
