Resumo: | Introduction: Cerebral Palsy (CP) is the term used for non-progressive impairment of motor and postural function, secondary to central nervous system (CNS) lesions, which occur during fetal or infant brain development. It is classified according to clinical characteristics and grouped according to the involvement of the limbs. The Quality of Upper Extremity Skills Test (QUEST) qualitatively assesses and describes upper limb movements in children with CP from 18 months to 8 years. Objectives: To translate and culturally adapt the Quality of Upper Extremity Skills Test (QUEST) for use in the Portuguese-speaking population in Brazil. Methods: This study is considered a methodological design for translation and cultural adaptation of measurement. The study utilized the tools proposed in the Critical Evaluation Protocol for the selection of health status Measurement INstruments (COSMIN). This study comprises three stages: I) Translation, II) Cultural adaptation, III) Elaboration of the Portuguese version of QUEST. Results: Our sample consists of 2 physical therapists and 2 occupational therapists (TO). the comments about the compression levels of the evaluators on version (T1 & 2) were analyzed and followed by the cultural adaptation of each item generating the version (T3). Conclusion: The items that compose QUEST were evaluated with high comprehension levels, demonstrating that translation and cultural adaptation were effective. Thus, we conclude that the translation will contribute to the Brazilian physiotherapy and T.O professionals, in the best planning of the patients' treatment, performing an evaluation of specific functions of the upper limbs of children with CP. |

O estudo utilizou as ferramentas proposta no protocolo de avaliação crítica COnsensus based Standards for the selection ofhealth status Measurement INstruments (COSMIN) compreendendo três etapas: I) Tradução, II) Adaptação cultural, III) Elaboração da versão T3 em português brasileiro da QUEST.
