The specialized library has basic characteristics in specific ways, thus working its particularities, such as its location, type of user and coverage area. With this, the proposed research problem is, what kind of activities are performed by librarians in legal-legislative environments and what services and products are required by their user community? And to address these issues, the general objective was established: to survey parliamentary libraries in Aracaju and identify what activities are performed by librarians and what products and services are required by the user community, in order to know the work performed by this professional and its importance in these environments. The methodology used to carry out this research was, in terms of objectives, the exploratory basis, being also a descriptive research whit a qualitative approach. Therefore, this research revealed the importance of the librarian in these parliamentary environments and showed the existence of libraries and librarians in these environments, as well as their performance within these institutions.
