This article proposes to highlight the struggles and protagonism of Brazilian women during the period of the military dictatorship, with the special focus on the women's campaign for amnesty. Our purpose is to rescue the memory of these women who militated against the authoritarianism and repression imposed by the military government and fought in favor of redemocratization in the country. The study also emphasizes the role of Sergipe women in political, student and militant movements, as they suffered repression, were arrested, tortured as women. We also look into the life of those women who opted for clandestine, based on testimonies collected by the State Commission of Truth and interviews given to the Project “Voices from a Past-Present”. In their reports, the women here in sight narrate their individual trajectories and the way they were treated by agents when arrested. However, the women's role only gained visibility with the women's campaign in favor of amnesty and the creation of the Female Condition Council that leveraged achievements in favor of the cause and needs of women and the creation of the Women's Police Station in 1988
