Resumo: Forage sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) is a crop that has excellent agronomic characteristics for cultivation in regions with climatic adversities, standing out for its rusticity and high biomass production. The present study aimed to evaluate the potential of forage sorghum genotypes with aptitude for cultivation in the region of the upper sertão of Sergipe. The experiment was carried out at the Experimental Farm of Embrapa - Semiarid, located in the municipality of Graccho Cardoso, in the agricultural year of 2019. The experimental design used was the randomized blocks, consisting of 25 treatments (genotypes) and three replications. The variables evaluated were plant height, panicle length, stem diameter, stand, green matter, dry matter, stem weight, plant weight, panicle weight, leaf weight, dry matter percentage and forage mass. Analysis of variance, GT biplot graphs, Pearson correlation analysis and trail analysis were performed. The ANAVA results demonstrate that there were significant differences by the F test at the level of 1% of significance between the genotypes for the variables: plant height, stem diameter, stand, green matter, stem weight, plant weight, panicle weight, leaf weight and forage mass demonstrating that there is variability between the materials used. The genotypes Ponta Negra, 2013F04019, 2013F02019 and 2013F05006 showed the best results in the analyzes performed, being selected as good parents to be used in breeding programs. In addition, they have high potential for cultivation in the Alto Sertão Sergipano region. GT biplot analysis was an excellent tool for visualization and selection of promising genotypes. The plant weight variable was the component that had the greatest direct effect on the forage mass variable, so genotypes with the highest values related to the plant weight are the most suitable for indirect selection for increasing the forage mass.

Moench) é uma cultura que apresenta características agronômicas excelentes para cultivo em regiões com adversidades climáticas, destacando-se por sua rusticidade e elevada produção de biomassa. O presente estudo objetivou avaliar o potencial de genótipos de sorgo forrageiro com aptidão para cultivo na região do alto sertão sergipano. O experimento foi realizado na Fazenda Experimental da Embrapa – Semiárido, localizada no município de Graccho Cardoso, no ano agrícola de 2019. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos casualizados, constituído por 25 tratamentos (genótipos) e três repetições. As variáveis avaliadas foram altura da planta, comprimento da panícula, diâmetro do colmo, estande, matéria verde, matéria seca, peso do colmo, peso da planta, peso da panícula, peso da folha, percentagem de matéria seca e massa de forragem. Realizou-se a análise de variância, os gráficos GT biplot, a análise de correlação de Pearson e análise de trilha. Os resultados da ANAVA demonstram que houve diferenças significativas pelo teste F ao nível de 1% de significância entre os genótipos para as variáveis: altura da planta, diâmetro do colmo, estande, matéria verde, peso do colmo, peso da planta, peso da panícula, peso da folha e massa de forragem demonstrando que há variabilidade entre os materiais utilizados. Os genótipos Ponta Negra, 2013F04019, 2013F02019 e 2013F05006 apresentaram os melhores resultados nas análises realizadas, sendo selecionados como bons genitores para serem usados em programas de melhoramento genético. Além disso, estes apresentam alto potencial de cultivo na região do Alto Sertão Sergipano. A análise GT biplot foi uma excelente ferramenta para visualização e seleção de genótipos promissores.
