The present work proposes to report the experience of a student of the Degree in Theater, black and female, who observes her body and its representations to reflect on her place on the stages and in the classrooms. Having autoethnography as his methodology to describe his observations and practical experiences with theater and education, based on bibliographical research. It brings the history of theater, women and black women in the theater, starting with considerations on issues of gender and race. She narrates her participation in Sergipe theater groups and acting in several shows during graduation, and as a result of the interpretation of some characters she represented, she realized the magnificence of the theater tool and correlated education, she paid attention to the obligation of teaching arts and art Afro-Brazilian culture within schools from basic education, according to the LDB. The cases of violence suffered by the characters described in the work are another starting point for the discussion about theater education and the power of raising awareness with art. Based on all the observations, a general reflection was carried out on the stereotyped roles occupied by black women in the art world, including in the theater, believing that these women need to continue fighting to occupy their spaces and, if necessary, create new spaces to introduce their ideas. , ideologies, personalities and realities.
