Human beings emerged in nature and are part of it, given that they cannot survive without the natural goods found in the natural environment. However, with the capitalist mode of production and its peak from the Industrial Revolution, the changes in nature became such that its pace of recovery became slower than that of exploitation and conceptions that nature should be in the service of man have become frequent. With this perception, the concern about environmental preservation began to exist. Environmental education emerges as a way to make citizens aware of the consequences generated by human actions. With this, the present work aims to analyze the relationship between environmental education and the maintenance of environmental injustice, to understand what environmental education is and the challenges of achieving it in the school space. In this way, environmental education enables the practice of activities at school that favor the formation of an awareness of the use of natural resources and the importance of conserving them for future generations.
