The concern about the environment and sustainable development, as well as other responsible measures are causing companies to seek sources of renewable energy such as biogas. However, this article presents the simple payback study for the replacement of liquefied petroleum gas by biogas through the implantation of a biodigester at a hospital in Minas Gerais. In this study we aimed to perform the initial investment payback time through simple payback. In this perspective, articles related to the production of organic waste for the production of biogas, implantation of innovative resources in the production process in the companies were searched, and a 5W2H action plan was used to plan and follow the activities. An annual survey of the hospital's expenditures on liquefied petroleum gas and a budget of the materials necessary for the implementation of the biodigester was carried out. Finally, it was concluded that for 7 years and 2 months the recovery of the investment will be carried out, and from this period the hospital unit will start to profit from the use of the biodigeste.
