This monograph is part of the "Memories of World War II in Sergipe" supported by FAPITEC and CNPq through the announcement Pronem 2011 and aims to analyze the daily life of Aracaju in 1942 after torpedeamentos, specifically the receipt of Aracaju that event worthy of a horror movie. In the period, Brazil was experiencing the impositions and control in all new state institutions (1937-1945), under the command of Getulio Vargas. The world was at its worst armed conflict already locked, the Second World War (1939-1945), who until August 1942, date of torpedeamentos, only made itself felt in the country indirectly, mainly by economics. With torpedeamentos of Brazilian vessels on the coast between the states of Bahia and Sergipe by the German submarine U-507, the near Aracaju could feel the horrors of that war. The news of the shipwrecks were slow to move, and when they came to the attention of the local population, this has been paid to go to the house that pushes beaches gave the bodies of the castaways to provide aid or collecting victims' bodies and burying them or seeking survivors. But help was not the goal of those who flocked there. It is by analyzing the Appeal Crime 1943, established to investigate the case of Nelson Rubina, we know that in that context too there were people who sought to get something out of himself all that historically unprecedented situation.
