Migração de retorno e gênero : trajetórias e processos identitários entre migrantes de Ribeirópolis

This research aims to analyze the trajectories of individuals from Ribeirópolis/SE who returned from Santos/SP, as well as know the identity changes, taking into account the singularities [occupation/job, housekeeper/partner] of social roles linked to gender. The present study figures, thus, at the intersection between migratory studies of return and those of gender identity. The general objective of this work is to know how the migration trajectories of the immigrants of the return from Santos/SP to Ribeirópolis/SE occurred and what were the identity changes experienced by the returnee, considering the singularities of the social roles linked to gender. For this purpose, in its method, qualitative research was used, through semi-structured interviews conducted on people of both sexes, of legal age, with permanent residence in Ribeirópolis/SE, who returned from Santos/SP. The interviews were analyzed through the direct confrontation between empirical and theories: structuring, identity processes, migration and gender, a chain of the theoretical and analytical basis about the migratory trajectories of these participants that served as the basis for the analysis of the results. Therefore, there was, consequently, that the motivation of the participants, for the most part, what led them to migrate it was the search for work and, thereby, improve their living conditions. For this purpose, the role of social networks (in particular, family members) was highlighted, from the trip, stay in Santos/SP and in the decision to return. It was also verified that, in spite of the difficulties and setbacks typical of a big city, the experience of migrating was considered positive, and that the migratory trajectory contributed positively to the self-perception of the current identity, since it was unanimous the affirmation that today they perceive themselves as more advanced people, due to the experience of migrating. In conclusion, made sure the social influences connected to the gender associated with a low level of education were decisive at the time entering the labor market.
