This article presents a study of the importance of information systems for the good development of a company. Due to the great changes that information technology has brought to the organizational environment, in this work are presented broad and specific concepts of information systems, after all each company uses the system according to their need. In view of this, this research sought to analyze the accounting information system as an instrument of management in an accounting office located in the city of Marabá-PA. The analysis was made through an interview with one of the partners in the firm. In which it was evidenced the use of the accounting information in the management process of the same. The research results show that the organization studied has been using the accounting information system as a management tool and that it is considered indispensable in the activities carried out by the firm.
