Avaliação da revisão da farmacoterapia conduzida pelo farmacêutico em diferentes cenários de prática : uma overview de revisões sistemáticas

To characterize and evaluate the methodological quality of systematic reviews (SR) on the Medication Review (MR) conducted by pharmacists in different practice scenarios. Methods. It was conducted a search on Embase, LILACS, PubMed, Scopus, The Cochrane Library and Web of Science databases in May 2016. In the search, the descriptors "medication review", "systematic review" and "pharmacist" were used. To be included, the studies should be SR; be written in Portuguese, English or Spanish; focus on MR or approach MR separately from other clinical pharmaceutical services; and, include the pharmacist as the responsible for MR in all studies. The selection of titles, abstracts, full texts, evaluation of methodological quality and extraction of data were carried out by two independent evaluators. Discrepancies were resolved by consensus or by a third evaluator. Next, characterization of the studies was performed. The degree of agreement between the evaluators was measured by the Kappa index. Results. 2,481 studies were identified, 11 were included. As to the characterization, the majority of RS patients came from Europe (n = 5), from controlled clinical trials (n=8), with elderly patients (n = 4), and performed in community pharmacies (n = 2), long-term care facilities (n = 2) and hospitals (n = 2). Of the 11 SR, six presented low to moderate methodological quality. Conclusion. The overview has identified RS with low methodological rigor that can compromise the quality of the results of the RF conducted by pharmacists. Thus, future studies should aim greater methodological rigor in order to provide scientific evidence on RF.
