Diagnóstico do processo de ensino e aprendizagem da disciplina bioquímica no curso de Ciências Biológicas da Universidade Federal de Sergipe

The biochemistry course is common to the curricular components of many courses in Superior Education Institutions, as it is a fundamental basic content for the understanding of other courses. However, there is a gap between the course and the perspective of professional practice. The present study aimed at the creation of teaching and learning strategies of the biochemistry discipline from the Federal University of Sergipe's Biological Sciences Major graduation. Questionnaires and tests were applied in biochemistry classes. It was observed that the students are young, do not work, have attended high school in public schools, and do not understand the course of biochemistry as necessary for professional development, with no learning perspectives. The questionnaire quizzes had a good overall with 49.5% of correct answers, being the main difficulties in questions involving chemistry and external representations. The data suggests that the discipline has a good quality, on the other hand, changes in the process of teaching and learning are necessary for a better course development
