This article intends to analyze child labor carried out in the environment of sugar mills in the Capela-SE region between the years 1965-1970, through the memory reports of those who experienced the daily life within these workspaces. In this sense, the contextualization of the origins of the investigated plants, the way in which they presented themselves to the population of the city and the surrounding regions, the analysis of the current legislation around the issues of child labor and the understanding of the reality in which these children were inserted in the structure of the sugar plants, are aspects that will be addressed in this production. In this way, in addition to contextualizing the national legislative situation regarding child labor, the oral history is inserted as an important instrument for a more in-depth analysis of the plants in the period.
