The present work deals with the study about the moderate social indexing system of the fanworks repository Archive of Our Own. This research aims to investigate how the indexing system of fanfics and other cultural productions works in the AO3 repository. This study was carried out through a bibliographic research, books, periodicals, annals of events, dictionaries, as well as websites and wikis that clarified more about the phenomenon studied were consulted. According to the bibliographic study developed, it was found that the moderate indexing system used by the AO3 is characterized as a more democratic indexing model when compared to traditional indexing and social indexing, however, it also has flaws due to human subjectivity and ignorance regarding the use of the correct tags.
