Resumo: This study aims to know the florist composition, the vegetation structure, the fruit types and the dispersion syndrome of a Caatinga remaining, located at Santa Maria da Lage farm, Poço Verde city, Sergipe, Brazil. Tours have been held monthly to collect botanical material, for evaluation and identification of the arboreal-shrubby species with circumference at breast height (CAP) >6 cm, found in 30 sampling units of 400 m2 installed in an area of 71,42 ha, and for fruit observation. The collected botanical material has been incorporated to the collection from the herbarium of the Federal University from Sergipe (ASE). In the sampling units have been evaluated the vegetable species, the vertical and horizontal parameters and observed the species with flowers and fruit from October 2009 to November 2010. In the studied Caatinga fragment, it has been observed the occurrence of 176 species, distributed in 119 genres and 47 families, being 63 species, belonging to 33 families, were found in the sampling units and have participated in the structural analysis of the community. The other species were collected in the fragment tracks and take part in the floristic list shown in this study. The families Euphorbiaceae and Fabaceae were the ones which have shown greater number of individuals in all studied plots. The species Psidium schenckianum, Cedrella fissilis, Poincianella pyramidalis and Manihot dichotoma have presented the highest rates of Importance Value and Coverage Value, being the species with most ecological importance for the studied area. Amongst the species found in the sampling units. The class of height which has shown the highest number of individuals (73,3%) was 2,89m to 5,83m and considering each tree trunk as an individual, the first diameter class (├9,3cm) was the one which has achieved the highest number of representatives. Furthermore, 41 species (14 families) have fruited during this study and through morphological observations and literature review characterized the dispersion syndrome (autochorous, zoochorous and anemochorous). Most of the studied species, 69,7% of the total, have shown dehiscent fruit and 67,4% have shown dry fruit. Moreover, it has been verified that 58,2% of the species have been scattered by autocory, followed by 23,2% by zoochory and 18,6% scattered by anemochory. Compared with other Caatinga areas, the studied area has presented a high environmental.
