Resumo: Stroke is characterized by the manifestation of clinical signs associated with lesions in the brain tissue, of vascular origin, being focal and/or global. Damage can cause several changes depending on the area that was injured and its extent. Among the post-stroke consequences, the disability in the motor function of the upper limb contralateral to the injury stands out. Several treatment strategies that stimulate the perceptual aspect can be used to maximize motor function, such as the mental practice (MP) and brain-machine-interface cognitive strategies. Objective: To investigate the effects of the interface-brain-machine association and mental practice for upper limb motor function recovery in stroke patients. Method: The research is a randomized clinical trial of quantitative character, characterized by double blindness. The sample of this research consisted of a male patient diagnosed with hemorrhagic stroke. Results and discussion: The main result presented after reevaluation was an improvement in the motor performance of the hemiparetic upper limb, indicated in all tests applied before and after care. Conclusion: the association of Interface-brain-machine with mental practice showed positive results in the process of rehabilitation of upper limb motor function in stroke patients.

Os danos podem provocar diversas alterações, a depender da área que foi lesionada e da sua extensão. Dentre as consequências pós-AVC, destaca-se a incapacidade na função motora do membro superior contralateral à lesão. Diversas estratégias de tratamento que estimulam o aspecto percepto-sensorial podem ser usadas para maximizar a função motora, tais como as estratégias cognitivas de Prática mental (PM) e Interface-cérebro-máquina. Objetivo: Investigar os efeitos da associação da Interface-cérebro-máquina e da prática mental para recuperação da função motora do membro superior em pacientes que sofreram AVC. Método: A pesquisa trata-se de um ensaio clínico randomizado, de caráter quantitativo, caracterizado pelo duplo cegamento. A amostra dessa pesquisa consistiu em um paciente do sexo masculino, diagnóstico de AVC hemorrágico. Resultados e discussão: O principal resultado apresentado pós-reavaliação foi uma melhora no desempenho motor do membro superior hemiparético, indicado em todos os testes aplicados no pré e pós-atendimento.
