Matemática dos investimentos: a percepção de alunos sobre o conteúdo de progressões com matemática financeira

Resumo: | This research aims to investigate the perception of students from the 1st period of the Mathematics Degree course at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Sergipe, regarding the knowledge of Financial Mathematics, and its relationship with the contents of Arithmetic and Geometric Progression. The investigation is due to the fact that there is a deep relationship between these contents, that is, Simple and Compound Interest that can be represented as an example of Arithmetic and Geometric Progressions, respectively. Furthermore, the research is justified by internal questions about how the knowledge of students is, high school graduates, about Financial Mathematics and the relationship with other contents. The research was developed having as a background the descriptive methodology that aims to describe the characteristics of a given population or phenomenon or then, to establish relationships between variables. For the collection and analysis of the data, a Google Forms was used to bring the answers that could elucidate the initial questions. In view of the analyzed responses, it is concluded that most of these students cannot make the relationship between Financial Mathematics and Progressions, however the few who had contact with financial investments were able to make this association. |

A investigação deve-se pelo fato de existir uma relação profunda entre esses conteúdos, ou seja, o Juros Simples e Compostos que podem ser representados como um exemplo de Progressões Aritméticas e Geométricas, respectivamente. Ademais, a pesquisa justificase por questionamentos internos sobre como estão os conhecimentos dos alunos, egressos do ensino médio, sobre a Matemática Financeira e as relações com outros conteúdos. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida tendo como plano de fundo a metodologia descritiva que têm como objetivo descrição das características de determinada população ou fenômeno ou, então, o estabelecimento de relações entre variáveis. Para a coleta e análise dos dados foi utilizado um Google Forms para trazer as respostas que pudessem elucidar os questionamentos iniciais.
