Revascularização em dente permanente portador de necrose pulpar e rizogênse incompleta – relato de caso

Traumatic injuries may lead to necrosis of the pulp tissue during the period of root development of the young permanent teeth, requiring an approach that allows the functional restoration of the patient. Regenerative procedures have been used in Endodontics as an alternative to the treatment of immature teeth with pulp necrosis. This paper aims to report a clinical case of a young male patient presenting a complex coronary fracture in the cervical third which was treated through Pulp Revascularization. The 13-year-old male patient attended for treatment at the university dental school, having suffered a fall more than two years ago, resulting in a complex coronary fracture in the cervical third of his right upper central incisor with pulp exposure. Pulp revascularization protocol involved irrigation with 2.5% sodium hypochlorite and 17% EDTA, followed by the insertion of intracanal medication with calcium hydroxide. Intracanal medication was replaced twice and in the fourth session the periapical bleeding was stimulated into the canal, followed by the sealing with MTA. At the 2-month control, a sinus tract was observed and the patient was referred to perform computed tomography exam to direct the subsequent treatments. Pulp Revascularization represents a new promising possibility of treatment for immature teeth with pulp necrosis, however, facing some uncertainties about the complete disinfection of the root canal space, the professional should be prepared to draw up a new treatment plan in case of failure.
