Resumo: Coconut is the fruit of the perennial palm tree Cocos nucifera and is considered a major contributor to the generation of a high volume of agro-industrial waste, given its important production in some countries. Because these residues are, in general, incorrectly disposed of in the environment, they have been the focus of studies that aims to promote their reuse as a promising source of bioproducts. However, due to their lignocellulosic nature, coconut residues, before being reused, need to undergo a pre-treatment step(s). Among treatments, the organosolv process stands out as an option to treat lignocellulosic biomass because it is ecologically correct and efficient in terms of delignification. Therefore, this study carried out a bibliometric review from the Scopus database to track studies focused on the application of organosolv in coconut residues to obtain bioproducts. As a result, 10 studies on this theme were found, which addressed the use of coconut residues (mesocarp and endocarp), submitted to organosolv pre-treatment, as a source for the production of biosorbent materials, ethanol, polymers, bio-additives, composites and porous carbon.
