Resumo: Historically, the Colombian state has suffered from several internal conflicts caused by the actions of armed groups and the expansion of drug trafficking. The peace movement has become a recurring theme among governments since the 1980s. The rise of Juan Manuel Santos to the presidency of Colombia has brought considerable changes to the country's political scene, both in institutions and internal dynamics and in its position regarding drug trafficking and guerrillas confrontation. Starting from this point, this work aims to analyze, based on the Copenhagen School theory, how the desecuritization process collaborated for the construction of peace between the government and the FARC-EP. For this, a brief historical overview is made and a comparison between the result of the securitization process developed by President Álvaro Uribe with the result of the desecuritization promoted by Santos

A ascensão de Juan Manuel Santos à presidência da Colômbia trouxe mudanças consideráveis ao cenário político do país, tanto nas instituições e dinâmicas internas quanto no posicionamento com relação ao enfrentamento ao narcotráfico e à guerrilha. Partindo deste ponto, este trabalho visa analisar, com base na teoria da Escola de Copenhague, como o processo de dessecuritização colaborou para a construção da paz entre o governo e as FARC-EP.
