This article develops a historiographical analysis about Marcelo Rubens Paiva’s memorialistic, situating her in the historical context of her launching work – “Ainda estou aqui (2015)”, from the debate of the relation between history, memory and literature. The main objective was to understand the links between memory and truth and present the process of creation and performance of the National Commission of Truth, with emphasis on the case of the disappearance of the former deputy Rubens Paiva, 1971. Another point addressed in this research was Eunice Paiva’s experience, seeking to identify the importance of female militancy within the memorialistic. Taking advantage of the effervescence creation moment and establishment of the National Commission of Truth, the writer Marcelo Rubens Paiva once again exercised his memorialistic writing looking over his mother's story, which was narrated in this work to elucidate the death, the emblematic end of his father and the rehabilitation of his family, breaking with the silence that perpetuated for years. Some decades after the end of the brazilian civil-military dictatorship, we observed that the country continues to live under the vestiges of this authoritarian past.
