The secretariat profession is remote, since the earliest records date back to the time of the pharaohs, when it was exercised by the male gender, in the figure of the ancient scribes. Over time, this area of activity has undergone several changes and adaptations (TERRA et al., 2012). With regard to Brazil, the secretariat profession gained some appreciation only a few decades ago. In view of this scenario, this study intends to investigate how the executive secretaries perceive the profession, in order to discuss the influence of this vision on the constitution of their professional and individual identity (s) and how they are feedback through their speeches. For that, the qualitative-descriptive methodology was used, using qualitative and quantitative elements. For data collection, a questionnaire was applied with open and closed questions, sent to the e-mail of the 30 (thirty) participants of the survey, executive secretaries filled in the 06 (six) Campuses of the Federal University of Sergipe, of which only 06 (six) answered the questions. The answers of the subjects of the research were analyzed through the critical discourse analysis (ACD). Therefore, the results obtained showed that the vision of executive secretaries directly influences their professional and individual identities.
