Levantamento preliminar das espécies de libélulas (Insecta : Odonata) em um fragmento de Mata Atlântica de Sergipe

The risk of loss of species due to the reduction of habitats and the lack of areas protected by anthropic actions highlights the importance of inventory studies and research and the cataloging of existing biodiversity, as an effective tool in understanding the distribution of species for breeding of biodiversity conservation strategies. This study presents a survey of Odonata species based on collections made in an Atlantic Forest remnant, in the municipality of Santa Luzia do Itanhy, south coast of the State of Sergipe. The collections were carried out between December 2020 and January 2021, with the aid of entomological networks, in nine points that cross watercourses (Castro River, Piauí River, Pagão Stream), including environments with different degrees of anthropization. A total of 372 specimens were collected, representing 27 species, three genera and two families. Among the most found species are Erythrodiplax basalis (Kirby, 1897) for Libellulidae and Telebasis filiola (Perty, 1834) for Coenagrionidae. Fifteen species were recorded for the first time for the state of Sergipe. The estimated Odonata richness in this area represented 98.12% of the species, while the observed richness corresponds to 1.66% of all Odonata species in Brazil. These results reiterate the need to investigate unexplored areas in the Brazilian territory to improve knowledge about the diversity and distribution of dragonfly species, adding to the instruments used for conservation.
