Tratamento farmacológico do transtorno de borderline : uma revisão integrativa

The Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a personality disorder of B group and is characterized by the instability on interpersonal relationship, selfimage, impulsivity, mood swings and suicide tendencys. It is a disorder of high complexity in diagnosis and therapeutic management and has a high incidence at clinical practice, reaching 1,6% of population in general and achieving until 20% of psychiatric hospitalization, therefore the BPD is of great social and economic responsibility. Until now there is not a remedy approved in the treatment of BPD, resulting in off-label prescription. The objective of this study is analyze therapeutical groups most used in the treatment of BPD through a integrative review. The rated studys showed that the most used groups are typical and atypical antipsychotics, mood stabilizers and seletive inhibitors of serotonin reuptakes antidepressants, because there is evidences that these contribute to a symptom improvement of isolated coexisting systems. This way, is necessary more scientific research about the theme, since the complexity and significance os this problem in public health.
