Gestão informacional do Museu Afro-brasileiro de Sergipe (MABS) e a salvaguarda do patrimônio cultural da cidade de Laranjeiras/SE

This research has as its theme the cultural heritage of Laranjeiras city, through the Sergipe Afro-Brazilian Museum (MABS), whose objective was to discover how this heritage is safeguarded in this museum. Therefore, a bibliographic and documentary research was elaborated as a means of acquiring pertinent information to the city and its patrimony, as well as the application of an interview directed to the MABS director to know, above all, how the organization and dissemination of the information in the museum is developed. Thus, it is an exploratory and descriptive research, guided by the symbolism of the material and immaterial that make up the historicity of this community and its antecedents. Thus, this work exposes the interdisciplinarity of Information Science (IC), showing how information management is developed in places of memory, such as museums. Therefore, the results of this study show that this city is full of significant cultural goods for the socio-cultural construction of Sergipe State, but most of its immaterial goods do not have a Recognition Register. However, it was found that MABS does not have the capacity to effectively represent the city’s cultural heritage and collective memory yet, since its museological practices are far from the reality proposed by Museology and Information Science.
