Resumo: Musicality within theater has always existed and its improvement over the years has generated this great genre that is now known to everyone — musical theater is nothing more than an active agent of the junctions of artistic languages and a highly collaborative endeavor between the dramatic literature, music, dance, acting, etc., that is, all unified arts. Therefore, the present work aims to present a reflective study about the development of musical theater from the perspective of the musical homonymous to the work of German playwright Frank Wedekind (1864–1918), “Spring Awakening” (Frühlings Erwachen), presented on Broadway in 2006, to show and analyze the interfaces and multifunctionalities of the theatrical genre through the aforementioned musical and play, also present in other authors and works.
