Introduction: A challenge arose for the health systems after the vaccination of the population against COVID-19: to rehabilitate the sequelae of the patients who contracted the virus. Therefore, it is necessary to initially understand the complications caused and how this affects the human body so that the scientific community can develop ways to rehabilitate the affected individuals. Objective: To verify patients who have contracted severe COVID-19. Methodology: This is an observational, crosssectional study with quantitative data analysis. This study was conducted with individuals aged 18 years or older who developed severe COVID-19 and required hospitalization at HUL. The research occurred at CENSIP, a location with suitable conditions for COVID-19 testing. The study involved testing participants for COVID19, conducting anamnesis, audiological evaluation, and cognitive assessment. Results: A total of 56 individuals participated in the study, ranging in age from 20 to 85 years (mean age of 51.5 ± 14.3). Regarding educational attainment, the average number of years of regular schooling was 8.36 ± 4.35 years. The inference processing task had the highest number of individuals scoring suggestive of alertness or deficit. Conclusion: Some participants performed poorly on the administered tests, and no prior complaints were found to justify these results. Further studies with different methodologies need to be conducted to elucidate these findings.
