Resumo: The present research presents as an empirical and central object the Protestant cultural heritage in Sergipe, with the purpose of pointing and describing three plausible Protestant patrimonial assets of the state of Sergipe, namely: the First Presbyterian Church of the State of Sergipe in Laranjeiras, the First Church Aracaju Presbyterian and Lavandeiras Cemetery in Laranjeiras. Thus, in juxtaposition to the Catholic predominance and, in the light of Cultural History in accordance with Peter Burke (2005) and Roger Chartier (1988), to understand how this was configured in the socio-cultural fabric of the state, whether at the level of forgetfulness or at the level of affirmation of the memory and identity of this sociocultural group which, according to the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) census of 2010, represents a number of 243,330 adherents for a total population of 2,068,017 in the State of Sergipe. Among the main results and contributions of this research we can emphasize that: the silences before the Protestant cultural heritage and the emphasis on goods linked to Catholicism remain, especially, when we analyze the works carried out, until then, by the Sergipe governments and by IPHAN (National Artistic and Historical Heritage Institute). The results also pointed to the need to recognize religious and cultural pluralism in the process of forming Sergipe's identity, as well as demonstrating that legitimizing the heritage of the highlighted goods symbolizes an instrument that reaffirms and strengthens identity, history, memory and feeling of belonging as a Protestant, to the point that we also corroborate with the local historiography. It is worth noting that we do not aim to exhaust the existing problem, but rather to open paths, reflections, discussions and possibilities, given that, undoubtedly, there are new studies to be done in the eagerness to understand other details. For such, as the theoretical development of ideas by Pierre Nora (1993), Jacques Le Goff (2003), Roger Castells (1999), among others. Besides that, as we are theoretically inserted in studies on cultural heritage, or Protestantism, a Protestant presence and patrimonialization of cultural goods in Sergipe, they were also used as productions by Françoise Choay (2001), Pedro Paulo Funari and Sandra Pelegrini (2006), Sandra Pelegrini (2009), Antonio Gouvêa Mendonça (2005, 2007, 2008), Ester Fragas Vilas-Bôas Carvalho do Nascimento (2000, 2003, 2012), Gicélia Santos Costa (2018), among other studies. Methodologically, the work consisted of analyzing and using sources, documents and bibliographies. As theoretical-methodological devices, it also operates with newspapers, graphics and figures.

Methodologically, the work consisted of analyzing and using sources, documents and bibliographies. As theoretical-methodological devices, it also operates with newspapers, graphics and figures.
