Análise do perfil imunohistoquímico entre o carcinoma adenóide cístico e adenoma pleomórfico: uma revisão de literatura

Resumo: Salivary gland neoplasms are the subject of great scientific debate due to the complexity of diagnosis and definition of treatments. This review searched in selected papers from PubMed after the application of inclusion and exclusion criteria by full reading aiming to compare the immunohistochemical profile of pleomorphic adenoma, which is the most common benign neoplasm in salivary glands, and cystic adenoid carcinoma, a very common malignant lesion that express similar clinical and histopathological characteristics in tubular areas, but different prognosis and treatment. The results of this review show great expression of cytokeratins (CKs), mainly CK14 marking luminal and non-luminal cells in pleomorphic adenoma, while only luminal cells in adenoid cystic carcinoma express this protein, in addition to aSMA marking myoepithelial cells in both lesions. Therefore, this study suggests double marking using the markers CK14 and a-SMA in the tubular areas of these lesions to define a more accurate diagnosis.

Esta revisão se utilizou de 10 trabalhos selecionados do PubMed após aplicação dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão por leitura integral com o objetivo de comparar o perfil imunohistoquímico do adenoma pleomórfico, que é o neoplasma benigno mais comum em glândulas salivares, e o carcinoma adenoide cístico, uma lesão maligna bastante comum que expressam características clínicas e histopatológicas semelhantes em áreas tubulares, porém prognóstico e tratamento diferentes. Os resultados dessa revisão apresentam uma grande expressão de citoqueratinas (CKs), principalmente CK14 marcando células luminais e não luminais em adenoma pleomórfico, enquanto apenas as células luminais de carcinomas adenoides císticos foram marcadas por CK14, além de a-SMA marcando células não mioepiteliais.
